SIM Opens Representative Office in Kuala Lumpur
Following the launch of its first regional office in Jakarta last year, SIM extended its presence into the region with the opening of its Representative Office (RO) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 17 April.
At the opening ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of SIM Holdings Dr Lee Kwok Cheong shared that demand for education in Malaysia is fast growing and the SIM office will be able to provide valuable information and advice to prospective students and their parents on higher education opportunities in Singapore and SIM GE. “It's a consultation process and we want to discuss with students and parents their interests and provide various options so they can make the right choice.” he said.
To enhance employment opportunities for SIM GE students and graduates from Malaysia, the RO is partnering companies in the country to offer internships and management trainee programmes. These partners include Grab Malaysia, CPA Group, Royal Selangor, Klareco Communications, CIMB, KPMG, MayBank and Petronas ICT.
The RO is also looking to provide additional value to the growing Malaysian alumni by helping them to upgrade their knowledge and skills through continual education and training, so that they remain relevant and competitive in the fast-changing world.
SIM GE has been a popular choice for Malaysian students and they make up 13% of its international student population.
The launch was graced by the Singapore High Commissioner to Malaysia, His Excellency Mr Vanu Gopala Menon, as well as local industry partners.
