Develop the understanding and skills necessary to use the power of information and communication technologies (ICT) for innovation and performance improvement in your organisation. 

This programme will: 

  • Discuss the theories underlying the development, use and evolution of digital technology, services and organisational infrastructure. 
  • Explain the nature and application of digital technology and digital infrastructures through computer-based information systems and social media in organisations and society 
  • Explore the underlying logic and structure of digital infrastructure and information systems. 

The programme is not technical  in nature. Instead, it focuses on the business models and strategies derived from the technologies, as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with their introduction.

  1. Use the power of information and communication technologies to assist management in data-driven decisions. 
  2. Manage the deployment of digital innovation and social media in the business.

Minimum / Maximum candidature period:

No refund or recourse should the student fail to complete within the maximum period. 



  • Blended lectures, group discussions, workshops and online study. 
  • Duration of each lesson is 3 hours. 
  • Students will attend classes with those pursuing a Bachelor’s programme at SIM campus. 
  • Classes are taught by local faculty, supplemented by webinars by the London School of Economics on the Virtual Learning Environment. 
  • Academic materials include Virtual Learning Environment, SIMConnect portal, subject guides, past exam papers and exam commentaries, reading lists and handbooks on good study strategies. 
  • Learning support include intensive revision, classes on study skills, academic writing and the Peer-Assisted Learning sessions. 
  • Minimum class size to commence is 25 students. Students will be informed within 30 days after the application period. 

For Full-time Programme: 

  • Full time classes are held in three-hour blocks between Monday and Friday, starting at 8.30am, 12pm, or 3.30pm. There are occasional classes on weeknights at 7pm and weekends. 
  • Average teacher-student ratio: 1:79

For Part-time Programme: 

  • Classes for part-time programmes are held from 7pm to 10pm on weeknights or 8.30am, 12pm, or 3.30pm on Saturdays. There are occasional classes on Sundays and public holidays.

Assessment & Attendence

  • Assessment by the University is made up of annual examinations and coursework (for selected modules).  
  • Completion of class tests, assignments and preliminary exams are highly encouraged in preparation for the University’s annual exams. 
  • Students may have a maximum of 3 attempts for each paper prior to classification. 
  • Key dates: 
    • SIM Preliminary Exams: Feb 2024 
    • University Exams: May – Jun 2024 
    • Results released: Mid-Aug 2024 
  • Attendance requirement 
    • Local: 75% 
    • International (Dependent Pass holders/ Long-term Visit Pass holders): 90% 

Requirements to Graduate

  • The award of the Graduate Diploma requires successful completion of all 4 full modules. 
  • Graduates who do well may be awarded with a Diploma with Distinction or Merit. 
  • Grading Scheme: 
    • 70-100: Distinction 
    • 60-69: Merit 
    • 40-59: Pass 
    • 0-39: Fail 
  • Graduates may participate in the presentation ceremony on SIM campus in April or the University of London (UK) in March. 


The programme is made up of 4 full modules. There are no prerequisites or exemptions for each module.

Three compulsory modules: 

  • IS1181 Digital infrastructure for business 
  • IS3167 Management and innovation of e-business 
  • IS3183 Management and social media 


One full module from the following: 

  • IS2182 Innovating digital systems and services
  • IS2184 Information systems management
  • IS3159 Research project in digital innovation
  • MN3119 Strategy 
  • MN3141 Marketing management

Admission Criteria

Accepted Entry Qualifications

  • A first degree completed in a minimum of three years on a full-time basis (or equivalent) from a university or other institution acceptable to the University of London 

University of London graduates from the same range of degrees under the academic direction of LSE cannot be considered for the Graduate Entry Route or for the Graduate Diploma.

Other Requirements

  • Proof of competence in English acceptable to the University of London such as a minimum Grade C6 and above in the GCE 'O' Level English Language examination or its equivalent.

  • A level of competence in Mathematics demonstrated by at least an equivalent pass at GCSE/GCE 'O' Level in a Mathematical subject at Grade C or above.

Fees & Financial Aid

All fees inclusive of current 8% GST (exclude textbooks / course materials). Fees will be subject to revised GST of 9% effective on 1 Jan 2024.

GST Notes:

  • Fees published are inclusive of current GST of 8%. The parts of fees not invoiced, not paid and where services are not rendered in year 2022 are subject to the new GST rates effective on 1 Jan 2023 and 1 Jan 2024 respectively. Refer to IRAS website here for more details.
  • For invoice generated in 2022 for services to be rendered in 2023, if payment is collected by 2022, 7% GST will apply.
  • For invoice generated in 2022, if the payment is received in 2023 and service is rendered in 2023, 8% GST will apply. Credit note against original invoice and a new invoice bearing 8% GST will be issued.
  • For invoice generated in 2022 and service is rendered in 2022, if payment is collected in 2023 (i.e. late payment), 7% still applies.

Payment to SIM can be made through SIMConnect using Credit Card (Visa or Master), PayNow, eNETS, and OCBC Interest-free Instalment Plan (min. S$500).

Mandatory One-time Fees

All fees inclusive of prevailing GST.

International Student Induction Fee 

A one-time fee payable by new full-time international students. This fee covers pre-arrival and arrival support, including activities to enhance the international student learning experience.

As applicable, payable with the programme fees’ first instalment. 


Application Fee 

Payable for each application form that is submitted. Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee will be refunded fully only if the intake does not commence. Unpaid applications will not be processed.
