Course Overview

This one-day intensive workshop is designed for managers, team leaders, change champions and the HR team members who are coming together to embark on a significant transformation through the implementation of a new HR system. Utilising the ADKAR change management model, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to lead their teams effectively through this critical transition. The program focuses on applying ADKAR’s principles to the specific challenges and opportunities presented by the HR system implementation, with clear actions and deliverables to ensure a smooth transition with maximised buy-in from all stakeholders, especially the end users.

Participants will be grouped according to their business unit and there will be opportunities to develop the change management plan facilitated by the trainer using the ADKAR model.

• Understand the ADKAR Model: Grasp the five key stages of the model (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement) and their application to change management.

Course outline

Module 1: Introduction to ADKAR and Change Management

• Objective: Understand the ADKAR model and its relevance to implementing an enterprise-wide HR system.

• Activities: Presentation on ADKAR model, group discussion on previous change management experiences.


Module 2: Preparing for Change

• Objective: Assess the organization's readiness for the new HR system, focusing on awareness and desire.

• Activities: Readiness assessment exercise, creation of a stakeholder map, development of a communication plan.


Module 3: Implementing Change

• Objective: Develop actionable strategies for the knowledge and ability stages, ensuring team members are equipped to use the new HR system effectively.

• Activities: Training needs analysis, planning skill development sessions, role-playing to address potential challenges.


Module 4: Reinforcing Change

• Objective: Learn techniques for reinforcing change, addressing resistance, and evaluating the success of the HR system implementation.

• Activities: Workshop on feedback gathering and response strategies, case study analysis of successful change reinforcement.


Module 5: Action Planning

• Objective: Create a personalized action plan for managing the HR system change process within their own teams.

• Activities: Action plan development guided by instructors, peer review, and feedback sessions.


Wrap-Up and Evaluation

• Objective: Consolidate learning, address any remaining questions, and evaluate the workshop.

• Activities: Participant reflections, workshop evaluation forms, and closing remarks.

Chien Ping, or CP, is an accomplished regional HR leader and consultant with over 18 years of expertise in HR Business Partnering, Learning, Talent, and Organisation Development. His career has seen him in Director and regional positions, contributing significantly to organisations across sectors, including the Singapore Civil Service,Monetary Authority of Singapore, MNCs and high-growth technology start-ups.


Specialising in innovative program design and implementation, CP leverages psychometric profiling tools and assessments to drive organisational success. As a certified counsellor and coach, he champions progressive HR practices, emphasising employee relationships, engagement, and diversity and inclusion. Since 2018, CP has been active in providing mostly pro-bono career coaching to job seekers, HR practitioners and students. He holds the GCDF and GCDFi accreditations.


Beyond consultancy, CP serves as an adjunct faculty member at institutions like Nanyang Technological University, Singapore University of Social Sciences, and Curtin University. In 2021, he authored an advanced certificate program with Singapore Management University Academy in collaboration with SHRM and IHRP, earning the position of Affiliate Faculty Member.


Engaged in various HR professional bodies, CP holds key roles such as SHRM Representative and Master Facilitator in Singapore. His global contributions encompass roles like Global Content Developer, Volunteer Code of Conduct Investigator, Associate Trainer with CIPD (UK), HR Mentor with AHRI (Australia), and Volunteer Task Force member and Assessor with IHRP (Singapore). As a trained certificate holder with the Association of Workplace Investigators, CP conducts workplace investigations, underlining his commitment to ethical employee relations.
