Understand the Strategic Impacts of Financial Decisions

The MSc Finance programme provides students an advanced knowledge in finance and understanding of the strategic impacts of financial decisions. It equips them with strong technical and analytical skills in the principles and application of finance, as well as indispensable soft skills including decision making, communication, assertiveness, and working in virtual and multicultural teams. Topics covered fundamentals of finance, corporate finance, financial management and financial markets.

CFA® Institute University Affiliation programme

The programme provides excellent preparation for the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA®) examinations, as it is based on the CFA® Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and is part of the CFA® Institute University Affiliation programme. Topics covered include management control systems, economics, corporate governance and private equity investment. Students on the MSc Finance programme will benefit from free access to the ‘Fitch Learning Cognition’ from Fitch Learning, an online learning platform for preparation of the Level 1 CFA® examination.

Curriculum

Structure

The programme is a combination of blended and face-to-face lectures, discussions and presentations.

Average teacher-student ratio: 1:40
Exemptions: Nil

Weekly schedule: Between Monday and Friday at three or six hours per session. Saturday classes may occasionally be scheduled if required
Class timing for on-campus classes: 8.30am / 12.00pm / 3.30pm, held on SIM campus unless otherwise stated
Minimum class size to commence: 20 students
If the class fails to commence due to low take-up rate, applicants will be informed within one month before programme commencement with the refund of application fee.

Requirements to Graduate

Students must successfully complete the taught modules and meet the conferral requirements of the programme.
The degree awarded and the degree certificate will be the same as that awarded in France.

1. May be completed at a distance (not in SIM) and in parallel with approved internship or full-time employment.
2. Minimum of 13 weeks (either internship or full-time employment) in a finance-related position anywhere in the world. To complete after all taught classes.

Accepted Entry Qualifications

Existing student of the Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) MSc Finance programme who has completed the 1st year of the 2-year MSc Finance programme

Fees & Financial Aid 

Payment to SIM can be made through SIMConnect using Credit Card (Visa or Master), PayNow, eNETS, OCBC Interest-free Instalment Plan (min. S$500) and cheques.

Programme Fees

This programme accepts only inbound exchange students from Grenoble Ecole de Management. Exchange students are not required to pay tuition fees to SIM.
