SIM Alumni Engagement is now offering 2 complimentary career profiling tools, each worth $250.What is Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQ)?
The TEIQue is based on K. V. Petrides’ trait emotional intelligence theory, from 1998. It is one of the world’s best-researched and most widely applied psychometric instruments.
Petrides’ theory views emotional intelligence as a group of emotional self-perceptions that are located at the lower levels of personality hierarchies. Trait EI assesses the emotional world of an individual comprehensively.
Among other psychological characteristics, the TEIQue assesses our beliefs about our emotional abilities (e.g., how good we believe we are at identifying, understanding, and managing our own and other people’s emotions). These beliefs are strong predictors of a range of behaviours and achievements, which are vital in the workplace (job performance, job satisfaction, job stress, leadership, organizational citizenship, organizational commitment. What is High Potential Trait Indicator (HPTI)?
The High Potential Trait Indicator (HPTI) is an assessment tool that helps identify employees with prospective leadership abilities and support those who are already in such positions.
HPTI has been designed specifically to help employers discover their next generation of leaders as well as support those already in those positions. Many employers are looking to identify their talent and build strong succession plans.
HPTI can also boost self-awareness and resolve skills gaps in leadership teams. By identifying those with strong leadership potential, the HPTI is able to help managers choose the correct individuals for leadership roles as well as pinpoint those appropriate for fast tracking.
The HPTI also assists with employee retention by helping top individuals progress to more advanced leadership positions that will suit their strengths and by showing that their employer has a vested interest in their development and understanding their approach to work.
