Courier Delivery for SIM Certificate and Transcript to a Single Overseas Address

After successfully completing a programme developed and awarded by the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), graduates will receive a qualification certificate and/or transcript in either digital or hardcopy format, or both, depending on the specific programme and graduation period. As these credentials are important documents, we strongly urge graduates to collect their hardcopy credentials in person at SIM Campus, Student Services counter.

Graduates who are overseas and unable to collect their hardcopy credentials in person may request courier delivery for their SIM certificate and/or transcript to a single overseas address.

Important:
1.    Qualification certificates and/or transcripts can only be mailed directly to the graduates, not to third parties.
2.    Ensure you have not previously collected your qualification certificate and/or transcript before requesting overseas courier delivery.
3.    Requests will be withheld for graduates with outstanding fees. Courier requests will not be processed until all outstanding payments are made.

SIM is not responsible for certificates and/or transcripts that are delayed, damaged, lost, or stolen during courier delivery. Please note that the Institute will not issue replacement certificates.

To make a request, log in to SIMConnect and follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to MyApps.
  2. Select Service Center.
  3. Choose Courier Service for EA.
  4. Click Add case.
  5. Fill in the required contact and case details.
  6. Submit your request.

For graduates of programmes where the qualifications are awarded by SIM’s University Partners, kindly email the University Partners to make your enquiry. The management of qualification credentials is under the discretion of each respective university.

Verification of Digital Certificate and Transcript

Welcome to the SIM Digital Verification Platform. Graduates who have successfully completed the programme(s) awarded by the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and have been issued digital credentials may verify the authenticity of your digital certificates and transcripts through the OpenCerts verification tool below.

OpenCerts Verification Tool
Upload or drag and drop the (.opencert) file into the verification window below.
  • If the file can be successfully opened in the viewer with no error message(s), it shows that the file is verified and is authentic. A successful validation on the SIM Verifier page confirms the authenticity of the digital academic certificate and transcript.
  • If the digital academic certificates and transcripts have been forged, tampered with, or are invalid, the verification will return a corresponding failure status.

More Information about OpenCerts

1.    What is OpenCerts?

OpenCerts, developed by GovTech Singapore, is an online platform based on the blockchain technology that offers an easy way to issue, check and verify academic qualifications.

2.    How does it work?

  • Each digital certificate/transcript is assigned a cryptographic proof (unique and secure digital fingerprint).
  • This digital fingerprint is stored on a blockchain, a decentralised and secure online ledger that cannot be altered or destroyed by a single person.
  • When your certificate/transcript is being verified by employers, the certificate/transcript data is checked against its code on the blockchain for validity and signs of tampering. The verification results will show whether the digital academic certificate and/or transcript uploaded are authentic.

3.    Benefits of OpenCerts

  • Tamper-proof
When a digital certificate and a digital transcript are issued by SIM, a unique hash is generated. Any modification to the content of the .opencert file will result in the file having a different hash. As a result, the verification will fail as the authenticity of the file has been tampered.
  • Authenticity

An untampered digital certificate/transcript will display the authenticity of the certificate/transcript to the viewer. Graduates can easily share their .opencert file with potential employee or other universities and they can then authenticate the graduates’ credentials through the Verify Digital Certificate/Transcript service.

  • Portability

The (.opencert) file contains your digital certificate and digital transcript and can easily be retrieved from your email or stored on your computer or devices. This reduce the chance of losing or misplacing physical certificates/transcripts.

4.    How to Save and Share my OpenCerts Certificate and/or Transcript?

Step 1: Create an account

  • When your institution issues a certificate and/or transcript to you for the first time, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to create your password.
  • Follow the instructions to complete the set up. Once your account has been created, you may log in and to view your certificate at any time.

Step 2: Access your dashboard and certificate

  • All certificates and/or transcripts tied to your account are accessible from the dashboard.
  • You can either export the certificate and/or transcript to .pdf or .opencert format.
  • Do not double click on the opencerts file.
  • You can save the .opencert file on your computer, just like any other softcopy files which you have.

Step 3: Share your certificate

  • From the Documents page, click the ‘Share To’ button to enable sharing and share the certificate with others. You can choose to show or hide your personal data before sharing your certificate.
  • You can share the file as an attachment via email, download the file, print the file, or share it on social media via a sharing link or QR code. You can also set an expiry for the link before sharing.
  • You can send the .opencert file to individual or organisations, and direct them to the current page to verify the authencity of your academic qualifications digitally.
  • Your certificate and transcript can also be exported as a PDF for sharing. Do note that the PDF file is not tamper-proof and cannot be verified on the verifier page.

6.    Disclaimer

  • Graduates are individually responsible for maintaining access to the digital academic certificate and/or transcript issued to them.

7.    Additional Notes

  • The digital academic certificate and transcript will only expire if an expiry or revocation was put in place by the issuer and this will be displayed during verification. Otherwise, the digital academic certificate and transcript will remain valid and authenticated perpetually.
