Course Overview

In today’s fast-paced workplace, mental well-being, peer care, and resilience are essential to sustained personal and professional effectiveness.


This one-day Peer Care course, adapted from The Resilience Advantage, equips participants to build a supportive community by listening actively, showing care appropriately, and helping peers navigate change and emotional challenges.


Participants will practise perspective-taking, empathy, listening, inquiry, affirmation, and peer-support conversations that can be applied within teams and workplace relationships.

Care for Peers: Building a Supportive Community

• Explain the role of peer care in strengthening workplace resilience and mental well-being.

• Apply the Iceberg Model to build empathy and better understand peer behaviour.

• Use listening, inquiry, and affirmation to improve workplace conversations.

• Support colleagues in balancing self-care, performance, and professional responsibilities.

• Demonstrate objectivity, professionalism, boundaries, and appropriate escalation in emotionally challenging situations.

This course strengthens workplace resilience by equipping employees to care for peers and contribute to a supportive community.

Care for Peers: Building a Supportive Community

• Participants will be better able to recognise peer-support opportunities, practise quality conversations, show empathy, and support colleagues while maintaining objectivity, boundaries, and professionalism.

Peer Care and Supportive Community

• Check-in: current state, learning intentions, and expectations

• Mental well-being and resilience: why peer support matters

• Strategies for managing emotions during change, resilience mapping, self-reflection, and support creation

• Applying the Iceberg Model to develop empathy, understand others, and show care appropriately


Quality Conversations and Peer Support Practice

• Quality conversations: listening and inquiry to create insight

• Self-portrait exercise: practising listening and affirmation

• Peer-support conversations: balancing care, professionalism, boundaries, and escalation

• Workplace application: challenges, support networks, and practical implementation

• Personal action plan for applying peer care practices in the organisation

Programme leader

Jones Liew is an accomplished corporate trainer, facilitator, and executive coach with more than 18 years of experience in leadership development across the banking, hospitality, FMCG, medical, and government sectors. He is an ICF-certified professional coach and holds recognised certifications including EQ-i 2.0 Practitioner, NLP Practitioner, ACTA, and Advanced Certification in Cognitive Science and Mental Wellness from Peking University. 


His methodology integrates Emotional Intelligence, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Habits of Mind, and experiential learning to support measurable behavioural change. 


Known for engaging facilitation and psychologically safe learning environments, Jones designs and delivers bilingual, action-oriented curricula that help leaders build resilience, enhance team performance, and drive sustainable organisational growth.
