Course Overview

Successfully executing key strategies is a critical part of driving strong business results. Developing your people’s strategy execution skills and systems can have a dramatic impact on your organisation’s overall performance. Based on the best-selling book The 4 Disciplines of Execution, and FranklinCovey’s programme Execute your Team’s Strategy and Goals, this course will keep managers and work teams focused, aligned and executing the most important organisational priorities.

Learning Unit 2: Strategy Implementation

• Principles of the 4 Disciplines of Execution® (focus, leverage, measurement, and accountability):

  ­ Discipline 1: Focus on the Wildly Important Goals

   • Determine the Wildly Important Goals (WIG)

   • Identify and plot potential WIGs

   • Narrow the WIG

   Discipline 2: Act on the Lead Measures 

   • Lead vs Lag Measures

   • Identify and evaluate internal and external risk factors 

   • Identify and narrow Lead Measures

   • Link risk factors to selected lead measures

   Discipline 3: Keep a Compelling Scoreboard 

   • Compelling Scoreboards that drive engagement and execution

   • Create a Scoreboard to track:

    o Lag and Lead Measures

    o Risk indicators

   Discipline 4: Create a Cadence of Accountability 

   • Weekly WIG Sessions to create accountability:

    o Review Scoreboard: Track progress of Lead Measures and review Risk Indicators.

    o Report progress of previous week’s Team Commitments.

    o Plan: Remove any obstacles and make new commitments that will move the lead measures

towards achieving the WIG.

Participants will also engage in 3 weekly reinforcement Group Coaching following the facilitated training to deepen learning, accelerate application, and create accountability.

Programme leader

One of the following will lead the training:

Ms Winifred Loh held senior leadership positions in business partner, HR generalist, and learning & organisation development functions across a 25-year career in publicly listed companies globally and regionally. She comes to consulting, coaching and facilitation from working in the trenches, with leaders in the retail, professional services, high technology, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical industries. 


In the non-profit arena, she helmed the Centre of Non-Profit Leadership for 3.5 years, the leadership consulting arm of National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre. In that role, she partnered with Board Chairs/Members, and CEO/Executive Directors of local non-profit organisations (NPOs) to deepen their leadership bench strength, identify governance challenges and facilitate organisational transformations for greater social impact.


Mr Sam Chia has more than 30 years of professional experience as an international business leader, executive coach, facilitator, and consultant in diverse industries that include chemicals, professional services, technology, semiconductor, bank, and financial institution.


Sam holds an MBA and is a fellow member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. Sam is highly passionate about leadership development and has worked with leaders from different levels. In his work, Sam applies insights using assessment technology, positive psychology, action learning, coaching, and blended learning to help leaders expand their performance and organisational capabilities.


Dr Christopher Fong served as Lead Clinical Consultant Psychologist (Asia Pacific) for Optum Global Solutions, an employee assistance program (EAP) unit of the UnitedHealthcare Group for 17 years. He had managed global accounts from banking finance, IT, oil & gas to pharmaceuticals. He was responsible for building a regional ecosystem of external stakeholders to complement the EAP suite of services on mental wellness programmes. He is currently a Workplace Consultant Psychologist and holding various major appointments, such as National Fellow, Ministry of Social & Family Development (NCSS). In 2019, he was part of the taskforce with the National Council of Social Services (NCSS) in producing the national mental health toolkit for employers. He has been recently appointed national council member to the Singapore Workplace, safety & Health Council, a national board advising the Singapore government on workplace mental wellbeing initiatives.
