COLOURS OF BEHAVIOUR: WHAT DRIVES HOW PEOPLE THINK, FEEL, AND PERFORM AT WORK

Course Overview

Have you ever been fascinated by the complexities of human behaviour?

Ever wonder what truly drives people's behaviour and decisions, or why people sometimes react in unexpected ways? While human actions may seem puzzling, there is a profound logic behind them, waiting to be understood.

Colours of Behaviour offers new and provocative research-driven insights into understanding ourselves and others. You will learn core (OR: critical) skills for today’s corporate environment such as how to predict behaviour, foster stronger connections, and influence people more effectively.

Throughout the course, you'll learn what truly drives and motivates people. The course will address questions such as:

• What influences people’s thinking and emotions?

• How do character, personality, attitude, and the environment intersect to shape people’s behaviour?

• Which aspects of human behaviour are most or least susceptible to change?

For instance, you will understand why some people see mostly details while others see mostly the big picture, why some managers are so structured and others not at all, why some engineers are so task-oriented while others are people-centered, and so on.

Understanding what drives behaviour can help to enhance your ability to lead and motivate your team, collaborate with colleagues effectively, and communicate with impact. This course reveals the why’s and how’s of human behaviours. It will show you how to enhance the performance of individuals and teams, and how to foster a positive, collaborative work culture.

Course benefits

By the end of this course, you will:

• Gain self-awareness and interpersonal insight: Understand yourself and others in realistic and practical terms. That is, learn why people really think, feel, and behave the way they do.

• Learn how to better deal with people: Learn new ideas and tricks on how to deal with various people in various contexts—i.e., among other things, how to manage, motivate, influence, and persuade them.

• Enhance your leadership skills: Learn new ideas and tricks on how to lead (or supervise) people and teams in all their differences. Know what aspects of human behaviours are easiest (vs. hardest!) to change, train, or mold.

• Learn how to manage conflict: Understand why and how conflicts often happen, and how to manage and resolve them effectively, whether as a leader or otherwise.
