The EE-GAR+ framework

As emerging technologies become increasingly prevalent in higher education, there is greater emphasis on teaching students to use these tools effectively and responsibly. The core syllabus for the Business Management and Communication module remains unchanged; instead, the AI-Enabled EE-GAR Framework: Explore, Experiment, Guide, Apply, and Reflect is embedded within the existing curriculum to enhance how students interact with AI technologies. Rather than discouraging technology use or relying on detection tools, the framework is intended to develop students’ digital and AI literacy, enabling them to use these tools critically, effectively, and ethically in business contexts.



Students interact with AI technologies through structured learning activities. They use adaptive search tools and AI chatbots to explore business topics and current issues while evaluating the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated information by comparing it with findings from their own research. AI prompts are then used to generate performance insights, helping students identify learning gaps and make informed improvements, with lecturers providing guidance to critically interpret the recommendations. During the reflect phase, students work collaboratively to evaluate their learning and AI-generated content, developing an awareness of ethical considerations and recognising the importance of critically examining AI outputs. This approach enables students to leverage AI tools as learning resources while strengthening key skills such as critical thinking, ethical judgement, and emotional intelligence.
