Held from 13 to 14 June 2026 at NUS, the tournament brought together top-tier athletes from Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), private clubs, and international organisations. For Team SIM, competing in this prestigious event provided a vital platform to benchmark standards against strong local competitors, foster sportsmanship, and achieve a remarkable medal tally of 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze.

Stepping Up on a National Stage
The NUS Indoor Archery Championships 2026 served as an important environment for Team SIM's 30 participating archers. By stepping outside their usual training venue, athletes adapted to varying lighting conditions, venue layouts, and tournament pressures. This exposure built vital confidence and mental composure.
A major highlight of the event was the substantial increase in Team SIM archers qualifying for medal matches compared to previous years. This achievement highlighted the club's growing depth and improved performance standards. Non-competing members also fostered a vibrant team culture by enthusiastically supporting their teammates throughout the elimination and medal rounds.
Inspiring Journeys and Voices
The event’s success stories extended to the individual level. Richie Ng-maung, President of SIM Archery, only picked up a bow in December 2025. Ranked 15th after the qualification round, he advanced through the knockout stages to secure an impressive 2nd place finish in the Individual Recurve Novice Men's category. Reflecting on his rapid progress, Richie shared:
"Improvement is not linear. There are good days, and there are bad days, but what matters is that you don't quit."
Addressing aspiring archers within the SIM community, Vice President Sophia Chew emphasised the importance of taking the initial leap:
