More than 50 SIM Student Ambassadors welcomed seniors from Bukit Batok West Active Ageing Centre to the SIM Campus for a joyful Mid-Autumn celebration on 19 September 2026. Organised in collaboration with Fei Yue, the event brought together different generations through festive workshops, games, and live performances, reinforcing SIM's dedication to community engagement and social responsibility.

Bringing Generations Together
On 19 September 2026, the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) hosted a special Mid-Autumn celebration at the SIM Campus Multi-Purpose Hall. Organised by SIM Local Engagement and the Student Ambassadors in collaboration with Fei Yue Family Service Centre, the festive gathering brought together 62 seniors from Bukit Batok West Active Ageing Centre (AAC)—including those with mobility needs—and 58 SIM Student Ambassadors.
The initiative provided an opportunity to foster intergenerational connections and extend warmth and hospitality to the wider community.
Festive Highlights and Hands-On Workshops

Throughout the afternoon, the campus hall was filled with vibrant energy as seniors and students participated in a variety of traditional and interactive activities:
Crafting and Culinary Workshops: Seniors engaged in hands-on lantern-making and snowskin mooncake-making workshops alongside student volunteers.
Interactive Games: A lively bingo game encouraged friendly interaction and shared laughter.
Festive Photobooth: A dedicated Mid-Autumn themed photobooth allowed seniors to capture lasting memories with friends, loved ones, and student companions.
Live Entertainment: SIM students and staff presented special performances featuring singing, dancing, traditional songs, and Getai acts, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees.
Impact on Students and the Community

Beyond providing a memorable festive experience for the seniors, the event offered SIM Student Ambassadors valuable real-world learning beyond the classroom. Participating students gained practical experience in community outreach, developing empathy, communication skills, and a strong sense of volunteerism.
The celebration also highlights SIM's ongoing commitment to nurturing socially responsible individuals who actively contribute to society. By collaborating closely with community partners such as Fei Yue Family Service Centre and Bukit Batok West AAC, SIM continues to strengthen its ties with the local community and promote an inclusive, caring environment across generations.
Looking Ahead
This successful Mid-Autumn gathering serves as a reminder of the impact of intergenerational community initiatives. Moving forward, SIM remains dedicated to fostering meaningful community partnerships and providing students with opportunities to serve and connect with the wider society.
