SIM is partnering ICDL Asia to offer a suite of micro-credential courses in digital skills for its Global Education (GE) students. These courses are expected to be available come September 2022.

ICDL offers world-leading computer skills certifications and through this partnership, GE students would be able to upskill through SIM’s Centre for Micro-Credentials while pursuing their tertiary education. This partnership underscores SIM’s purpose in empowering learners to thrive through relevant upskilling and cross-skilling to be future-ready.

Professor Wei Kwok Kee, Provost, SIM said: “We recognise that in an era where technology is permeating our lives ever more acutely, digital skills are becoming even more paramount for the work of the future. As a learning institution that is focused on the future of work, we prepare our students to be future-ready through applied learning. We are pleased to partner ICDL, widely recognised as the world’s leading digital skills certification standard, to become an accredited test centre in Singapore. This partnership will allow our students to earn micro-credentials in digital skills and finesse learning pathways to upskill our students which will in turn enhance their employability.”

SIM will be an accredited test centre for ICDL’s Professional, Insights and Workforce series. More details on the courses and how to apply for them will be made available from August 2022.
