Bringing educators together to explore future-ready learning

SIM Global Education (SIM GE) welcomed more than 70 education counsellors and professionals to its first Educators’ Conferences in Bangalore and Hyderabad on 11 and 12 September 2026.

Held at Hyatt Centric MG Road Bangalore and Le Méridien Hyderabad respectively, the two morning sessions created a platform for educators to exchange ideas, explore approaches to student development and consider how education can continue evolving in an AI-driven world.

Building on an earlier Educators’ Conference held in Delhi, the expansion to Bangalore and Hyderabad marks a further step in SIM GE’s engagement with the education community across India.

Design Thinking for student development

A key highlight was a keynote by Professor Timothy Chan, Deputy Provost, SIM Global Education, who explored how Design Thinking can offer new approaches to education and student development.

The session encouraged participants to consider principles such as empathy, curiosity, experimentation and problem-solving, and how these can be applied to better understand student needs and support their development.

The discussion also considered the importance of human capabilities as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in learning and work. Creativity, judgement, collaboration and connection remain important in helping students navigate change, make informed decisions and respond to new challenges.

Building connections across the education community

Beyond the keynote, participants had opportunities to connect with fellow education professionals and gain insights from SIM GE and its university partners. The sessions enabled educators to exchange perspectives on student aspirations, academic pathways and the evolving role of education counsellors.

For SIM GE, the conferences provided an opportunity to deepen relationships with schools and education leaders in Bangalore and Hyderabad, while better understanding the questions and priorities shaping students’ education decisions in India.

Following previous engagement in Delhi, the addition of Bangalore and Hyderabad expands SIM GE’s educator community in India. SIM GE looks forward to continuing these conversations and working with education professionals to support students as they plan their next steps in an increasingly dynamic global environment.
