SIM Dragon Boat Crowned Double Champions at Prime Minister Challenge
It was a show of might as the SIM men's and women's teams dominated the waters off Bedok Reservoir at the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival held on 13-14 July.
Guided by the mesmerising drumbeat from the bow of their boats, the men's team had a good start leading the pack with NUS following closely behind. They maintained their grip, set a blistering speed, and sliced through the waters to triumph over other teams.
The men's team roared to a win by a mere second against 1st runner-up NUS.
A proud moment for our women's team who reclaimed their championship title.
Spurred by their previous loss, the feisty women's team reaped their victory with a 4-second (one boat length) lead over defending champion NUS.
Organised by the Singapore Dragonboat Association and the People's Association Water-Venture, the PM Challenge pits the five Autonomous Universities and SIM against one another in a 1,000-metre boat race.
