It was a show of might as the SIM men's and women's teams dominated the waters off Bedok Reservoir at the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival held on 13-14 July. Both teams rowed to sweet victories to emerge double champions of the Prime Minister (PM) Challenge on the final day of the festival.

Guided by the mesmerising drumbeat from the bow of their boats, the men's team had a good start leading the pack with NUS following closely behind. They maintained their grip, set a blistering speed, and sliced through the waters to triumph over other teams.

The men's team roared to a win by a mere second against 1st runner-up NUS.

A proud moment for our women's team who reclaimed their championship title.

Spurred by their previous loss, the feisty women's team reaped their victory with a 4-second (one boat length) lead over defending champion NUS.

Organised by the Singapore Dragonboat Association and the People's Association Water-Venture, the PM Challenge pits the five Autonomous Universities and SIM against one another in a 1,000-metre boat race.
