This intimate, two-hour roundtable brought together senior leaders from organisations including NHG Health, SingHealth, Thomson Medical, Singapore Children’s Society, Singapore Cancer Society, and Dementia Singapore. Participants engaged in rich conversations on capacity and capability building, new operating models, and the evolving shift from organisation-centric perspectives to tackling systemic, ecosystem-wide challenges.

The discussion was moderated by A/Prof Yeuk Fan Ng, Director of Corporate Development at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and featured Professor Michael C Jackson OBE, Emeritus Professor at the University of Hull. Professor Jackson shared his pioneering work in Critical Systems Thinking and offered pragmatic strategies for navigating complexity through his EPIC (Explore, Produce, Intervene, Check) framework — a practical approach for leaders driving transformation across healthcare and social systems.

As the dialogue highlighted, there remains much work ahead in advancing the goals of Healthier SG and strengthening the adjacencies between health and social services. Yet, the spirit of collaboration and shared purpose among participants signalled a strong commitment to shaping a more resilient, integrated, and adaptive healthcare ecosystem for Singapore.
