She shares more on her experiences at SIM GE. A Good Foundation In Economics “I have always been interested in economics. I decided to take up the Diploma in Economics* programme at SIM-UOL. The programme provided me with the basic knowledge that I needed to go on to my degree programme. Through the degree, I was able to gain a better understanding of economics in different fields. This helped me further advance to take up a Masters in Applied Economics at Nanyang Technological University and land a job as a consultant in the financial software consulting industry.” Overcoming Obstacles “It was not easy for me to understand some academic terminologies and theories in class. But I really would like to thank my lecturer Dr.Zhang Jianlin, as he patiently explained each question to me and gave me the confidence that I needed to learn them well.” Gaining From Experiences In SIM GE “Being an international student from China, I decided to join the Chinese Student Club to get acquainted with more Chinese students and I later became the president of the club. The experiences allowed me to learn how to deal with different people and how to organise events. I arranged an event for Chinese students in SIM to celebrate Chinese National Day. My exco members worked together and each of us contributed a lot to make this event a success. It was also the first time we got a sponsorship by ourselves. We all had fun during this event! I have become more outgoing after joining SIM and this has helped me in my personal and professional growth. Advice To Students SIM is a good place for many great learning experiences.
