Leow Sue Yee

I want to excel in sports and studies, and SIM GE gives me a wonderful platform to achieve the perfect balance.
Discover SIM GE Developing a winning mentality At SIM GE, Sue Yee found a perfect balance that allowed her to pursue her studies and her love for touch football. She credits her supportive lecturers and the vibrant campus life for giving her the chance to hone her leadership and time management skills, and instilling in her a fierce self-discipline to succeed in everything that she sets out to do. She talks to us about how her SIM GE experience has helped her gain a global mindset. On what it means to have a Global Edge “Having a Global Edge means we learn to look at things from different perspectives. Broadening our thinking and helping us to have a more intuitive solution to any problems.” On her lecturers and their teaching styles “Both my American instructors and local lecturers are very nice and friendly. The diversity in the teaching styles made the lectures engaging and interactive. As the context of the lecture is global, it gives me a wider perspective of what’s happening not just in Singapore, but internationally. It inspires me to think fast on my feet and be more adaptable to any situation.” On the hands-on learning approach “I remember a project where we had to shoot a mock video for a prospective employer. It provided a very real-world experience and allowed me to get an inkling of what to expect when I start work in the future.” On giving her all in both work and play “I don’t want to simply graduate. I want to give it my all. Both in touch football, which I really enjoy, and in my studies. I want to excel in both aspects and SIM GE gives me a wonderful platform to achieve the perfect balance.” Check out the University at Buffalo’s programmes offered at SIM Global Education.
