The inaugural Regional Educators Conference Taiwan 2026 concluded with a resounding success, with over 60 educators from Taiwan and the region coming together to explore emerging trends and opportunities in education. Themed "Teaching for Tomorrow: Education in Practice for a Changing World", this event, held from 25 to 27 May, was organised in collaboration with the International Education Exchange Association (IEEA).  

The event commenced with a welcome networking dinner attended by representatives from Taiwan's Ministry of Education (MOE), IEEA leaders, school principals, educators, and international delegates. Over the next two days of conference sessions, participants engaged in in discussions on internationalisation, transnational education, global competence, social and emotional learning, artificial intelligence in education, student mobility, and cross-border collaboration.  



There were keynote presentations and workshops led by SIM Global Education's leadership, including Provost Prof. Jorg Bley and Director of Applied Learning, Mr. Lai Fook Ming, alongside Prof. Thomas Saltsman from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. The sessions highlighted Singapore's education ecosystem, international pathways, and future-ready approaches to teaching and learning. Participants had an enriching experience, with many expressing interest in future collaborations and requesting access to workshop materials.  

A key highlight of the conference was the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between SIM and over 30 high schools in Taiwan, reinforcing a shared commitment to strengthening educational partnerships and expanding international opportunities for students and educators. The event also featured student cultural performances, educator networking activities, and cultural immersion experiences, further fostering meaningful connections among participants. 

The conference received extensive national and local media coverage such as Yilan News, Yahoo News Taiwan, LINE Today, Focus News and others,  achieving an estimated reach of 6.18 million and significantly enhancing the visibility of educational collaboration between Singapore and Taiwan.
