Course Overview

Leaders as Catalyst of Innovation. Design is a transformational force for organisations to build innovative products, services and experiences that connect and resonate with customers. This is especially critical in the recent two years where many enterprises are experiencing the pressures from the covid 19 situations and the intense competition with new business models disrupting the market. Today, the unprecedented trend of enterprises pivoting to new service and product offerings leverage on design. Becoming a catalyst of change and innovation requires mastery of insights on organisational culture and integrating design thinking practices and norms that drives innovation. This programme will look at areas such as keeping abreast of the development in Design Thinking, driving innovation and organisational change through Design Thinking—integrating Design thinking across levels of the organisation and building a working culture of design thinkers.

Course benefits

The participant will learn the concept and stages of Design Thinking as well as implementing the Design Thinking approach across the company and uncover the opportunities to improve on productivity and efficiency. He/she will be able to identify the problem and analyze it through the methodologies of design thinking approach. So that, he/she is able to come out with different ideation towards the opportunities. Basically, he/she will cultivate Design Thinking as a driver for innovation.

- Understand the Design Thinking

- Explain the importance and benefits of design thinking

- Identify the stages in the design thinking process

- Apply the effective design thinking methods for the organization

- Adapt the prototyping methodologies to facilitate the design thinking concept

- Describe the characteristic of a design thinker towards the end result of Design Thinking Methodologies 

- Example of how design thinking is used in other organizations
