Course Overview

This one day introductory course is designed to provide learners the confidence and knowledge to talk about sustainability in a professional setting. Sustainability is a rapidly growing area, with considerable focus in all industries and countries today. Learners will be developing a basic understanding of what encompasses sustainability and how to communicate it. The structure of the course will provide participants with the ability to approach sustainability concepts confidently and have a clear understanding of its value and importance. Case studies of organisations who have started on this rewarding journey are also provided to provide learners a framework of sustainable ideas which they can utilise.

Programme leader

Jon is an experienced senior manager that has worked in blue chip companies like Accenture, Jardine Matheson and Lloyd’s since 1995. Having risen to the position of CEO in various companies since 2009, he has managed teams and built effective organisations from cities in Asia to Europe, Americas to Africa. The industries he has worked include law, finance, banking, technology, management consulting, insurance, executive search, internet start-ups, tertiary institutions and learning & development.

Jon’s start in sustainability began in the 90s where he was initially tasked to work on banking projects to improve energy consumption of various banking systems and processes. He then continued to assist clients at Accenture on sustainable projects in different parts of the world. Later at Lloyd’s, he championed the green initiatives he saw in the London offices back to Asia to improve the environment, encourage better transparency and greater accountability.
