The SIM National Management Competition (NMC) is a computer-simulated
business management challenge. Throughout the competition, you will
gain ‘real-life’ experience
in managing a ‘company’, sharpen and practise your entrepreneurial
skills.
Easy to play!
| • | e-‘Manufacture’ two products; sell one in a number of ‘consumer’ market and the other in an ‘industrial’ market. |
| • | Plan your production and decide on the product selling price. |
| • | Strategise your marketing and financial resource allocations. |
| • | Manage your cash flow. |
The development of the ‘markets’ will depend on the actual
decisions made by other competitors playing in the same markets.

Competition Schedule
Pre-Competition (Trial Round)
The Trial Game will be opened for two days (8 & 9 July) for teams to
submit their decisions with the aid of the ‘User Guide’ and
an online demonstration. You can also post any queries on the forum site
which will be answered at a specific time by the facilitator. The results
of the trial game will be released on 10 July.
You must attend the briefing session on 11 July where the game administrator
will answer all queries relating to both the trial and the actual game.

Game
Administrator
Dr Yeo Gee Kin was an Associate Professor at the School of Computing, NUS
where she developed the simulation engine for a business game, to support
her teaching in decision support systems. She believes in learning through
activities and has been promoting learning through games. She started her
software company, Decisionware Simulations and Games Pte Ltd in educational
gaming in 2002. In 2006, she founded the Society of Simulation and Gaming
of Singapore and become its President.
