-the APPIES 2010 day 2-

hi guys!!

sorry for my late update =(.. I'm kinda busy with some other things, but here I bring to you what was happened during the second day of the APPIES 2010!

In the morning of day 2, the event began soo late, because of heavy traffice at clementi road.. so after the event started, the individual presentations on different lecture theatre were begun straight away..

Firstly, I went to LT 1.11 to see some of very attractive campaigns! Take a look at this..

 

This campaign was broadcasted in Australia and was used there. I like this campaign because its content and concept were good and he keep the campaign simple and understandable =)

 

This campaign is sooo creative for me! It's kinda competition that was set in a detective game. Everyone must rescue the main actress in this video, which was kidnapped by a secret agent! nice concept =)

 

This advertising campaign was broadcasted in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was made by the advertising agency for government campaign purpose. It was used to remind every parents not to abuse their children..

 

The concept about this advertising campaign was about vandalism.. The respond was pretty awesome and resulted in the increase of Mini Ray sales..

 

Audi celebrated 100 years of existence in automotive industry! And they celebrated it by this advertising campaign! To be honest, this campaign is not so attractive as the intention was not boost sales result, but simply to tell people what Audi has offered since 100 years ago =)

 

This campaign came from insurance industry. It's pretty cool as the title suggest! I bet that many people became so curious what Birla Sun Life offered them!

 

This is it! All the individual advertising agencies have presented their best campaigns! As for the rest of the day, we were gathered back in LT 1.10 and heard some talks from experts in China and India, as well as the GOLD medal winners for the APPIES 2010 =)

I don't know some of the winners content and concept, simply because I didn't attend their campaigns! But the first winner that you saw, I'm sure you have seen the advertising campaign in television, especially for you who are living in Singapore! Once again, Congratulations for the winners!


And that's it from the APPIES 2010.. I think this event was so informative and useful for fresh graduate like me, because it gave me some insights of what is happening in real business world, particularly in terms of marketing efforts and media..

the APPIES 2010 -day 1-

This is what I'm gonna show you guys! What is the APPIES 2010?


on 3rd of June 2010, they started the presentation by showcase from Tiger Beer. The campaign was so attractive, as you may have already seen the advertisement during Chinese New Year in Feb 2010.This is the compete version of the campaign and it brought a really good result for Tiger Beer!

 

 

The symbol of Tiger which also represents that this year is the year of Tiger!

 

The campaign was introduced in 4 countries, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and China

Tiger campaign in Malaysia, the tiger is more aggresive because in Malaysia, Tiger beer is not as popular as in other countries. Carlsberg owns a bigger market share there.

 

Aftrer the presentation from Tiger Beer, the presentations were broken up into several lecture theatres and there were different time slots for each company which present their campaigns. Firstly, I went to LT 1.09 to see campaign from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia!

-the presenter from Johnson Baby Milk Bath, Malaysia-

 

The above campaign was about Whisper, however 1 of the assessor asked what's the objective for the campaign, because the presenter was not showing the objective, and it became an exciting debates between the assessor and the presenter, Joanne Goh.

 

This is from Indonesia =). The only campaign from Indonesia which was selected to become 1 of the finalist. If you guys are from Indonesia, you should have seen the campaign. It's quite interesting and funny, but unfortunately I didn't manage to record the campaign. You can google or youtube it ^^

 

After the presentation from some of the marketing agency across the countries, we was gathered back into LT 1.10 to hear the forum called Ideas Huddle. Ideas huddle essentially was about how today's marketing can bring a lot of impact in ROI (Return on Investment). It was presented by 3 top people across the countries, Ross Jackson who is Head of Cross Border Business in Asia Pacific, VISA worldwide ; Huang Cheng Eng, who is Executive Vice President for Marketing & The Regions, Singapore Airlines ; and Shakir Moin who is Director Sparkling Brand Portfolio, Coca Cola Pacific.

 

After lunch until the rest of the day we spent it by presentation in several lecture theatres and I moved sometimes from one LT to another LT to see different kind of advertising campaigns which were really exciting.

From my opinion, the campaign which was presented by him was really technical and difficult to understand. In the first bit, I didn't even understand and know what the product they try to sell. A little suggestion from me, if you want to make an advertisement, keep it simple and easy to understand =)

 

Unlike the previous campaign, I like this quite a lot. If you're in Singapore, I'm sure you have seen a lot of this campaign. They changed the city hall mrt into a girl dressing room which was really cute. They also spent a lot of money on this campaign, SGD $350,000. What do you think?

 

This campaign is really familiar for me, because I have seen quite a lot before. I like the fact that it is simple and understandable, since their target was small and medium enterprises.

 

This campaign was not shown in Singapore. The campaign was for Australian people, however the product was manufactured in Singapore.

 

This campaign was from India.. Anyway, just a simple conclusion from what I've seen, a lot of creative marketing campaigns was from Indian. Even if it is presented for Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia..If you see the picture of the presenter, a lot of them are Indian =)

 

This campaign is not shown in television, but they emphasize on social media such as Facebook. The campaign was succeed in making a better connection between NTUC Fair Price and consumers.

 

This advertisement was from Hongkong. It is shown in Mandarin, so I can't really evaluate it, since I can't really understand Mandarin =p.. Nevertheless, I think this advertisement was great and has brought a good improvement in Pringles' sales.

 

I bet that you must have seen this campaign! It's from Mcdonalds.. and I guess some of you may have participated in the competition as well, haven't you? =)

the APPIES 2010 -MY stuffs!

Hello everyone!

 

I would like to share with all of u guys my experience through the APPIES 2010 which was held on 3rd and 4th of June 2010

First of all, do you know what is the APPIES?

The APPIES is a forum or a platform to showcase how marketing work in today's world, how the real business world strategise their marketing effort to boost their return on investment.

 

I think that this is a very good event for us as a student, especially for marketing student or those who are keen to work in marketing industry!

In my series of blog for the APPIES 2010, I'll show you what I've got from this big event =)

From my opinion, the event was really useful as they gathered all the marketing expert from 12 different countries to show their pieces of work and there were 10 gold medals given out for the winners! Do you want to know who is the winner? stay tune to my blog!

Not only that, they also served us with so much food until I never felt hungry at this event! =p

IM + IM O.o

Hello fellas, how r u today?

 

If you ask me that question, I would answer.. " it's the same old day, busy preparing my upcoming exam on 25th and 27th! "

3 days ago I just had my first exam, Investment Management (IM) paper.. And well, I can feel Singapore Expo again, after 1 year..

I had no idea whether I can do the exam or not! Pray hard so I can get good marks!^^

The more exciting part is post IM exam!! I went to Orchard with my friends, and we watched IM --> Iron Man 2.. The movie was really good! I'd like to give 4 out of 5 for that movie.. Have you watched it guys? If you haven't, you should watch it!

Well.. another mini post from me! Wish me luck for my other 2 BIG day! h

welcome u, May...

and this is May everybody!

should we celebrate because holiday is coming soon? or should we be sad because of upcoming exam?

 

For me, I am sooooo nervous for this May, because of my very final Exam!!

I have my first exam on this 10th of May.. wish me luck everyone! :):)

how bout u guys? I know for all of UOL students, all of you must be very tired and sick of studying, just like me! I've watched a video which is very funny and entertaning! if you are university student and you'll have exam soon, this is a video for you!
