The partnership between SIM and the University of London (UOL) hit a new high with a record 225 graduates achieving First Class Honours for their degrees, topping the previous record of 191 in 2016.
"SIM truly celebrates the academic achievements of our UOL," said Sylvia Yeo, Assistant Director of the HE1 department. "For the HE1 team it is also incredibly fulfilling to see our efforts exemplified in the success of our UOL graduates year on year."
The record result was one of many highlighted at the annual SIM-UOL Achievers' Event on October 21 at the SIM Performing Arts Theatre.
The event also saw the celebration of 46 students who achieved the top mark worldwide for their subjects, 12 winners of the UOL Awards for Academic Achievement (awarded for achieving at least four distinctions in their exams) and 30 UOL Commendation Award winners (awarded to students for excellent results).
Among the guests were graduates with Distinctions from the first cohort of the SIM-UOL Master of Science in Professional Accountancy programme, testament to the ever growing suite of programmes offered by SIM and UOL.
Also in attendance at the Achievers' Event were Dr Maggie Cooper, Director for International Computing Programmes, Goldsmiths College; Ms Elizabeth Aitken, Director for the University of London International Programmes at LSE; and Ms Sylvia Ong, Manager for Learning and Student Development, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
SIM's long standing partnership with UOL dates back to 1986 which to date has produced 31,700 alumni across programmes such as banking and finance, economics and management.
