Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy appointed to conduct iPSLE

19 Aug 2019

The Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy (SCIA) has been appointed by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) as an Overseas Examination Centre to conduct the Singapore International Primary School Examination (iPSLE) from 2020-2022. The iPSLE is the international version of Singapore's PSLE, and was introduced to allow overseas schools and students to benchmark their academic standards to Singapore's standards. The format, standards and testing requirements of the iPSLE are similar to Singapore’s PSLE.

The appointment by SEAB is a recognition of the rigour of the education that SCIA provides, as it is one of only two international schools in Cambodia to have this stamp of approval.

The journey to the appointment took SCIA about two years of preparation, which culminated in a site visit by the SEAB team in May 2019. The three-day visit included a review of the school’s assessment process and inspection of the facilities.

As part of their assessment process, the SEAB team observed a lesson conducted at a Grade 4 class.

SCIA is a member of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), and offers the Singapore brand of education with the aim to nurture future leaders in Cambodia.
