The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) has appointed Dr Kevyn Yong as its chief learning officer to further boost the capabilities of its professional and enterprise development unit. Dr Yong’s leadership portfolio which took effect from 9 September will also strengthen SIM’s capabilities in building a greater nexus between education and industry, ensuring that learners are equipped with real-time real-world knowledge to stay employable and relevant.
Dr Yong’s areas of expertise and research include creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership, with a focus on design thinking, agile innovation, strategic leadership, leading change and digital transformation, and artificial intelligence. He has delivered customised leadership and innovation programmes for many corporate partners, including Amazon and ATOS in France; eBay and Nike in China; and Danone, Deutsche Bank, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and the United Overseas Bank in Singapore.
Dr Yong is quoted regularly by the media and well sought after as a speaker and presenter on topics of leadership, entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and artificial intelligence as well as workforce transformation and the future of work in a digitalised economy.

Prior to joining SIM, Dr Yong was an Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at ESSEC Business School, and served as Dean as well as Associate Dean of Executive Education at ESSEC Asia-Pacific. Dr Yong was also Associate Professor of Management at the highly ranked HEC Paris and taught courses at Cornell University and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Recognised for his teaching excellence, he was awarded the Pedagogy Innovation Prize by the HEC Foundation in 2011 and made the Dean’s Honour roll at the S.C. Johnson School of Management at Cornell University in 2005 and 2006.
Dr Yong received his Ph.D. in Management and Organizations from the S.C. Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. He also holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from NUS and a Masters degree in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University.
