16 students from the SIM-University of Wollongong’s (UOW) Psychology degree programme had the chance to gain a valuable cross-cultural international perspective on psychology and counselling from 10 to 14 April 2017.
As part of the university’s Psychology in an International Context, Singapore (PICS) programme, they joined up with 16 students completing the same programme at the Wollongong campus in Australia.
The programme aims to promote interaction between Singapore-based and Wollongong-based UOW Psychology students by giving them an opportunity to get to know other students from another country.
The programme encompasses workshops on counselling skills and practice; a research seminar; a visit to the National University of Singapore’s Psychology Clinic; a tour of the Institute of Mental Health; and activities to experience Singapore and the local culture.
