Two SIM-UOL graduates set to further their dreams in the UK

24 Aug 2018

Ask SIM-University of London (SIM-UOL) International Relations graduate Alicia Lum where she would like to be in a few years, and she will say working with the United Nations or charity organisation Oxfam. Spurred on by an interest in politics, fundraising and international aid programmes during her undergraduate studies, she is now closer to fulfilling her dream after being awarded one of two 2018 UOL Master’s Scholarships.

Alicia will pursue a Master’s in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at the London School of Economics and Political Science later this year.

The other scholarship recipient, Sam Yong, is heading to University College London to pursue his Master’s in Business Analytics, specialising in Management Science. Building on his SIM-UOL Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management, he hopes to bridge the gap between data science and business management in his future career.

The scholarships are awarded by UOL under the UOL-SIM Global Education Regional Centre. Starting from last year, two awards are given annually to SIM-UOL graduates to study a full-time Master’s programme at any of the 18 UOL Member Institutions.

Alicia and Sam, both First Class Honours recipients in their respective SIM-UOL undergraduate programmes, will further their studies with the UOL Master’s Scholarships.
