SIM and UOL celebrate 30 years of partnership with year-long activities

30 Mar 2016

SIM Global Education (SIM) and University of London (UOL) are commemorating 30 years of partnership this year with a slew of activities. To add feather to the cap, the latest graduating cohort of SIM-UOL students has brought in a record haul of 169 First Class Honours!

SIM and UOL started their academic collaboration in 1986 to meet the growing need for talents to manage knowledge intensive industries of a rapidly industrialising Singapore. That year, it launched the BSc (Hons) in Management Studies to overwhelming response. It has been 30 years, and the partnership has grown from strength to strength. With a focus still on nurturing talents in management and business, more programmes have been added, namely in the areas of Accounting, Banking, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Computing and Information Systems, Creative Computing, and more recently, International Relations and Politics.

As a result of SIM’s and UOL’s rigorous learning support including intensive revision workshops by UK and local lecturers, SIM-UOL students have consistently emerged among the top performers in the world. In 2015, 169 secured First Class Honours, the highest for any UOL International Programmes. 34 SIM-UOL students also topped their papers.

The Class of 2015 will see 2600 graduates presented to the UOL Vice Chancellor, Sir Adrian Smith, across six graduation sessions at SIM from 6 to 8 April 2016.

SIM, which was awarded the prestigious UOL affiliate centre status in 2009, is UOL’s largest affiliate centre in the world. Since 1986, close to 30,000 alumni have benefitted from the SIM-UOL partnership. These are some 30th anniversary celebration activities that you can look out for:
