SIM GE to offer International High School programme

12 Dec 2016

SIM Global Education (SIM GE) will offer the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) to international students from the ages of 13 to 16. This is a milestone initiative marking a new chapter in the SIM GE narrative.

Leveraging our strength in higher education, the SIM IGCSE programme offers students a direct pathway to our in-house diploma programmes, and thereafter, articulation into higher education programmes with our partner universities.

This direct pathway is unique to SIM, and it differentiates us from other local and regional institutions that offer International High School programmes. With this value creation, we offer a continuous track for prospective students to realise their aspirations.

Beyond the IGCSE syllabus, the curriculum will provide elective experiences across subject domains that develop regional awareness, as well as nurture the spirit of enterprise and community building in all students. All this will take place within a culturally diverse learning environment, which will enable us to inculcate cross-cultural sensitivities and harness collaborative skills.

Students’ early start with SIM will allow us to better prepare them for the demands of higher education. With this, we hope to draw closer to the SIM mission of grooming future business leaders who positively impact the region and beyond.

The SIM IGCSE is slated to commence in September 2017 with a pioneer group of approximately 90 students. Classes will be held at a designated space at the SIM headquarters on Clementi Road.

A start-up core team of experienced educators are currently working on the curriculum, and we are very excited to be deepening our footprint in furthering the cause of education in Singapore and beyond.
